Government prosecutor in Lokayukta trap while accepting bribe from accused in POCSO case

An incident like this happened in Davanagere's PJ barangay where a government special prosecutor fell into Lokayukta's trap while accepting a bribe.

Rekha S. Kotegowder, Special Public Prosecutor of the POCSO Court, was caught. A POCSO case of sexual offense against children was registered against GT Madana Kumar of Kittoor village in Davangere taluk.

Rekha had demanded a bribe of 3 lakh rupees to help the accused in the case. Of this, 1.17 lakh rupees have already been received, while the remaining check of 1.87 lakh rupees was received at her Davanagere residence, the Lokayukta police raided and arrested Rekha.

Lokayukta SP MS Kaulapure led the operation and recovered the blank check received by Rekha and Rs 1.87 lakh during the attack. The cash was confiscated.
